Loved up or not!?

Back from my romantic trip very loved up and blissfully happy.... he loves me!

Meanwhile my best mate who actually got married last July received NOTHING for Valentines Day! What's going on?

Can someone explain this to me. Has anyone been in a relationship where their partner didn't send them even a card on Valentines? Is it just me that would mind? Well not only me as my poor mate is really upset and thinks it marks the beginning of the end when they've not even celebrated their first wedding anniversary!

indeed. I am married since 31 years by now. And it worked pretty well so far without any present for Valentine's day. To mark the beginning of the end sounds pretty stupid to me.

I didn't get anything from Green-eyed Fisherman for valentines day; I knew he wouldn't be arsed so neither did I... well actually that's not true; I got a badly-spelled text at 6pm, and I knew that he'd been listening to them banging on about it on the radio all day at work (as had I) and was suddenly feeling a slight misgiving at not having bothered (as was I)... I could almost hear the conversation between him and his skipper that resulted in the text, and was laughing my head off and feeling all warm inside at knowing each other so well, cos if that isn't romance then what is?

I reckon the issue with your friend is just that - not feeling understood. How can he not have known that she'd really like something? It's a power thing too I suppose; he could've done it her way but didn't and she was forced to do it his way... mmm, sounds messy already. Life's so much easier when you accept people the way they are or move on!

  You're so right it does sound messy. It's the fact that you should understand your partner's needs and to suddenly stop being sweet and considerate after getting married makes her feel like he's taking her for granted.
  
  It's nice when you know each other so well like you and the lovely fisherman. You understand each other which is brilliant.

i buy here flowers every week ..i do the valitines bit but i do think that this day is about trying to get passed Unrequited love, and to start a new romance....still everyone to there own..

  That's so lovely that you buy her flowers every week. I feel that Valentines could just be a fantastic excuse to buy an extra big bunch or a card to go with them. I know what you mean about the new romance bit. I always sign my valentine cards with a ?

Well, this is really not a good beginning.Gift on such occassions shows how u care and whatever may be your mood or circumstances.One should care for the person whom he loves and show her always that he loves her.

  You're right. It can be devastating to a woman when people ask at work what they received for Valentines and they have to say either nothing or make something up. I know it's all commercial these days but it doesn't take much to buy or even make a card and write something nice in it.
